German American Chamber of Commerce Awards Scholarships to Fox Students
Four Fox School international students were awarded scholarships from the
Philadelphia German-American Chamber of Commerce (GACC) at GACC’s annual membership reception on February 5.

Andreas Michligk (Germany) was the first recipient of a $3,000 scholarship awarded to an incoming student. She will begin the International MBA (IMBA) program in Fall 2004. Recognized for academic excellence and career goals similar to the mission of GACC, GACC awarded current students Matthieu Guillaume (France) $500, Neil Archibald (U.S.) $1,000, and Katrina Leyking (Germany) $500 and a roundtrip Lufthansa ticket.

"We are grateful to Barbara Afanassiev, the GACC Board and the general membership of the GACC for its long-standing tradition of support for the IMBA Program," stated Will McDonald, director of the IMBA program.

"Student participation in GACC networking and speaker events has become an annual tradition for our International MBA class.  The GACC's commitment to making these events available to all of our IMBA students gives them an opportunity to engage members of the business community, and to become more familiar with the companies and industries that have strong business links between Philadelphia and Germany," he continued.

The reception marked the continuing partnership between GACC and The Fox School. GACC developed the scholarship program to extend its traditional relationship with the regional business community to include business schools that foster future international talents.

Founded in 1989, GACC-Philadelphia is part of the worldwide network of German Chambers of Industry and Trade. GACC facilitates trade and business relationships between Germany and the U.S., and promotes mutual understanding of the diverse business cultures and socio-economic environments through business-oriented programs, seminars, roundtables and workshops in the Greater Philadelphia region.
