Leadership the Focus of MBA Alumni Conference
http://www.fox.temple.edu/mbams

Over 180 Fox MBA and MS alumni attended the MBA Alumni Conference on Leadership, April 16 at the Radisson Plaza-Warwick Hotel in Philadelphia. The conference provided a vehicle for celebrating the 10th anniversary of The Fox School’s International MBA (IMBA) program and was a way for MBA and MS alumni to further develop the Fox Graduate Alumni Network.

Leadership was chosen as the conference theme because of its timeliness and relevance to today's business environment. The conference provided alumni with information and leadership techniques they could apply in their work places and careers. Topics included thinking outside the box, the power of nice, and leadership in your career. Jim Kouzes, coauthor of the award-winning and best-selling book, The Leadership Challenge, was the keynote speaker on “The Legacy You Leave.” Based on feedback from attendees, alumni were re-energized by the conference.

In addition to the educational experience, the networking opportunities for Fox alumni were enormous. Fox graduate alumni from many of the area's major corporations attended– GlaxoSmithKline, Campbell Soup, McNeil, Johnson and Johnson, Rohm and Haas, IBM, Wachovia and Citizen's Bank.

Linking the event to the MBA and MS Student Association Gala provided a bridge connecting alumni and current MBA and MS students. As for the IMBA alums, the conference was a chance to rekindle the special relationships the program has fostered over the years. Participants came from across the U.S., as well as from overseas.

Plans are underway for next year's conference. We plan to increase attendance and to elicit a growing partnership with the area’s major employers and business organizations. This year’s conference was sponsored by Microsoft and Citizen's Bank.
