Women’s Entrepreneurship Conference Teaches Women How to “Market their Magic”
Temple’s League for Entrepreneurial Women hosted its sixth annual Women’s Entrepreneurship Conference.

Keynote speaker Marjorie Brody (School of Communications MA ’68), founder of Brody Communications Ltd. motivated the audience through her speech, which told of her rise to success and the secrets she discovered along the way. Brody, who was once told by her father, “Business was no place for a woman,” has written 18 books and is recognized internationally for her expertise in communications skills.

Temple University Council on Entrepreneurship Spurs Arts-Related Events
In today’s economy, entrepreneurship is not just for business majors. Recognizing this, The Fox School of Business and Management has been promoting one of its key tenets — entrepreneurship — throughout Temple University. Leading the way is the school’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute (IEI), which recently created the Temple University Council on Entrepreneurship (TUCE) to unite all 17 schools at Temple University in helping students, staff, faculty and alumni strive toward entrepreneurial success.

Funding Strategies for Early-Stage Biotechnology Companies Conference • November 15
Biotechnology and entrepreneurship are a natural combination. The two will intertwine on Nov. 15 when The Temple University Council for Entrepreneurship (TUCE) will host a half-day conference, The Real Deal: Funding Strategies for Early Stage Biotechnology Companies at the Desmond Hotel and Conference Center in Malvern, Pa. from 7:30-11:30 a.m.

SBDC Helps Client Achieve Success
Succeeding with a small business takes courage, hard work and perseverance. Temple Small Business Development Center (SBDC) understands small businesses and the men and women behind them. SBDC client Hiliary H. Holloway, principal investor and operator of the Holloway Safety Group, recently achieved success as the winner of the “creative and innovative” category of the regional Minority Business Plan Competition and was awarded a prize of $12,500.
