Risk & Insurance Fraternity Receives Bowers Award for 6th Consecutive Year
The Sigma Chapter has done it again and brought home the prestigious Edison L. Bowers Award for the sixth year in a row! The Bowers Award was given at Gamma Iota Sigma Annual International Management Conference held from October 20 – 22 in Mackinaw Island, MI.
The Bowers Award was created to recognize the one Chapter of Gamma Iota Sigma that demonstrates an exceptional, well-rounded and organized program each academic school year.

Marsh CEO Delivers Key Ethics Message at Fox Risk Management and Insurance Awards Ceremony
At The Fox School’s 17th Annual Risk Management Awards for Excellence on April 6, 2005, Marsh and McLennan CEO Michael Cherkasky delivered a wake-up call to the insurance industry about the importance of sound ethics.
Addressing a group of Temple students, faculty, alumni and regional insurance industry executives, Cherkasky said that the insurance industry must stand up and hold itself accountable for its actions.

Risk Management and Insurance Department Assumes Editorship of 3rd Journal
The identification and management of financial risk are issues of great importance to those who work in the world of finance. The Fox School of Business has recently taken over the Journal of Risk Finance, and has attracted leading thinkers in the field to publish in this scholarly journal. The Journal of Risk Finance provides a scholarly forum for the publication of research in a variety of topical areas is risk finance.
The Journal of Risk Finance is edited by Mike Powers, the director of the Advanta Center for Financial Services Studies at Temple University's Fox School of Business and Management, and professor of risk management and insurance.
