Ranked Top 10 four times in the past five years
In its 2008 rankings, U.S. News & World Report ranked the undergraduate Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) program of Temple University’s Fox School of Business among the Top 10 programs in the U.S.
“I’m happy to see our program — the only program to have concentrations in employee benefits management and healthcare risk management in addition to traditional risk management and insurance, and actuarial science — receive this well-deserved ranking,” said department chair Rob Drennan.

Investiture celebrates Cummins as Joseph E. Boettner Chair
In November 2007, the Fox School of Business celebrated the investiture of J. David Cummins as the Joseph E. Boettner Chair of Risk Management, Insurance and Financial Institutions.
The Journal of Risk and Insurance recently recognized Cummins as the premier researcher in the discipline of risk management and insurance.
“The type of leadership that Dr. Cummins has shown in teaching and in research is the model of excellence we actively pursue at the Fox School,” said Dean Porat.

Risk & insurance fraternity receives Bowers Award for 8th year
The Sigma Chapter of Gamma Iota Sigma has done it again and brought home the prestigious Edison L. Bowers Award for the eighth year in a row — 13 out of the past 15 years! Gamma Iota Sigma is an international professional fraternity for students studying risk management, insurance and actuarial science.
The Bowers Award was created to recognize the one chapter of Gamma Iota Sigma that demonstrates an exceptional, well-rounded and organized program each academic school year.
