Issue 24   March 4, 2008

Welcome to the March issue of the STAR Tester! As the weeks are passing so quickly I must draw your attention to the Call For Papers deadline of this Friday, 7th March. If you would like to share your experiences and opinions at Europe’s premier testing conference, this is your chance. Last year we brought together over 900 testing professionals and this year promises to be an even greater success.
Read EuroSTAR 2008 Call For Papers.

This month’s issue contains two outstanding articles relating to presentations which were very popular last year in Stockholm. We also have an important announcement regarding our upcoming Tutorial Day taking place on Tuesday,
20th May in Stockholm, Sweden. Please read details below for futher information and the tutorial schedule.

I would like to thank everyone who attended last month's Agile Testing Webinar - presented by Fran O'Hara, Insight Test Services, Ireland. I hope to have the recorded version of this webinar available on our website by the end of this week.

If your company is interested in taking part in Europe’s largest Test Tool and Services Exhibition, I encourage you to book early as there are limited stands available. Please download our Sponsor/Exhibitor document or call Kevin on
+353 91 514477 to find out more.

Kind regards,

As a result of this, I use every occasion to ask testers about where they feel testing is at the moment. I get many diverse answers, going from “In the starting blocks”, over “We’re finally getting some structure in our profession” to “The future is looking very bright for testers!”

Offshoring: How To Let It Flow

by Bob Legrand, Sogeti, The Netherlands

A large financial institution outsourced all their Functional Acceptance Testing to Sogeti. The test line for this customer consisted of 24 people, with a large component in India. Sogeti worked hard to improve the testing processes that were affected by offshoring as well as communication in the test line.
