How To Survive Christmas Shopping In The City
We have asked Hilary Ross Murphy, a Dublin based personal shopper, for advice on how to make Christmas shopping less stressful, or at the very least less fearful!
Here are some of the pointers she gave us:
· Shop on your own – you get twice as much done in half the time · Tuesday is the quietest day to shop – be in town for 9am and by the time lunchtime rolls around, you will have it almost done
· Comfortable shoes - a must, in order to last the day
· Don’t restrict yourself – keep an open mind
· Don’t drive - take the train, bus or Luas, and after all the hard work treat yourself to a well-deserved drink!
When it comes to buying for friends, family and work colleagues, push yourself further than the traditional socks, perfumes and chocolates. Christmas shopping should be all about giving things people wouldn’t think of buying for themselves. Here are some cool gift ideas for the person who seems to have it all!
· Hot Air Balloon Ride
· A Trip on the Orient Express
· Buy a star
· Portable DVD player – a walking cinema
· Why not log on to www.guinnesswebstore.com and find out what great gift ideas we have available in our flagship retail store.
Whatever you buy, and whenever you buy it, we hope that by giving you these pointers we’ve helped make your Christmas shopping experience a more settling one!
