During June 21-22 Walter Jamieson and Daniel Spears participated in an international workshop on Festival and Event Tourism in Hue, Vietnam. The event was sponsored by Hue University, College of Economics, the Ford Foundation, and the School of Travel Industry Management, University of Hawaii, Manoa.

The presentations included: “Responsible Cultural Tourism Planning and Development: Festival and Special Events” (Walter Jamieson), “Community Based Participation in the Development of Event and Special Tourism” (Daniel Spears) and “Festivals that Center around Culture & Tradition: The Community Event of the Lafayette Mardi Gras” (Jerome Agrusa from HPU). We wish to sincerely thank Jerry for working with us on this initiative.
