First Annual Global Recreation Symposium, Hawaii Chapter in Taipei, Taiwan, June 28-29, 2004
Daniel Spears, Fred Collison, and Walter Jamieson participated in the First Annual Global Recreation Symposium, Hawaii Chapter in Taipei, Taiwan. TIM faculty joined the IDG group from Honolulu, Hawaii to discuss various tourism development issues. Presentations included – “Global Trends in Travel and Tourism” (Walter Jamieson), “Quality of Services and Customer Relationship Management in a Globally Competitive Tourism Industry” (Daniel Spears) and “Air transportation Trends and Issues in Asia and the Pacific” (Fredrick Collison).
The highlight of this trip was an official visit with Hsiu-lien Annette Lu, Vice President of Taiwan. Her Excellency has visited Hawaii on a number of occasions and spoke fondly of her time with us in the islands. She was most gracious and in honor of our visit wore a dress that was given to her while she was here in Hawaii.
